History: SNICKERS® Bar was first manufactured in 1930. The SNICKERS® Bar was named after a favorite horse owned by the Mars® family. SNICKERS® Bar is the number one selling candy bar in the United States. It is made of peanut butter nougat, topped with caramel and peanuts, and covered with milk chocolate.

Manufacturer notes: 2009 Mars Snackfood US is unveiling a campaign for Snickers that will begin with outdoor ads and content on the Snickers website and Facebook. The campaign introduces an imaginary language called "Snacklish," which uses the iconic Snickers logo to communicate to consumers the relevance of the candybar in every situation. Beginning in March, Snacklish debuts nationwide in the "Snickers Speak" advertising campaign, which is targeted toward men ages 18 to 49. " By taking Snickers core equities like its unique ingredients and satisfaction, we are reminding our consumers why they love Snickers so much" . The campaign includes "Satisflying" billboards featured in airport arteries; "Get a Degree in Snackanomics" signage placed on a variety of out-of- home executions in local market financial districts; and digital billboards that will change to match the time of day, such as "3 'oclockishment," which is the time of day when Snickers are most often consumed.
A national television campaign includes legendary music icon Master P inviting viewers to "Get Some Bling With Master P-Nut," and basketball legend Patrick Ewing explaining how to "Get Dunked on by Patrick Chewing."
